"Dancing Heart I"
The full spectrum of the rainbow surface in the luster on this magnificaent Freshwater Mabe Pearl. Silver curves grace the pearl, framed in 22 Karat Gold - giving way to the dance of love and life and dreams. An organic yet elegant pendant of hand forged Sterling Silver "Spiculum" Forms using both anti-clastic and synclastic techniques. The Spiculum is created by forging flat sheets of sterling silver (hammering it to curl up into a hollow tube form) as the metal is guided over a groove on the end grain of a wood block. It is then soldered at the seam, filed, constructed, and brought to a high polish finish. The left "spiculum, was then given a brushed finish to add an element of texture to the design.
